The President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, is departing for Paris this afternoon in response to an invitation from his French counterpart, Mr. Emmanuel Macron, to attend the military parade of the French Armed Forces, which will take place tomorrow on the Champs-Élysées, on the occasion of France’s National Day.
The parade, which will be attended by heads of state and government, as well as leaders of EU institutions and international organizations, an elite unit of the National Guard of the Republic of Cyprus will also take part, following an invitation from the French Armed Forces. To this end, the Commander of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou, has traveled to Paris.

During his stay in Paris, the President of the Republic is expected to meet with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and other foreign leaders.
The President of the Republic, who will return to Cyprus tomorrow, July 14, late in the afternoon, will be accompanied in Paris by Deputy Government Spokesperson Mr. Yiannis Antoniou and government officials.
