Argentine media are reporting on Olympiacos’ interest in Orlando Hill. San Lorenzo reporter Pablo Lafurcade, reported that the “Red-and-Whites” made an offer for the Paraguayan goalkeeper who stood out at the World Cup, but it was rejected.
He believes, however, that the Piraeus club will return with a new offer for the 26-year-old goalkeeper, who, with his saves in the Round of 32, helped Paraguay eliminate Germany in a penalty shootout, while in the Round of 16 he kept his team in the game against France until they were defeated by a penalty kick from Mbappé.
Hill, who is under contract with San Lorenzo through December 2027, has made 22 appearances this season and kept 12 clean sheets across all competitions. A few years ago, when he wasn’t yet earning much from soccer, he was forced to sell some of his personal memorabilia from Uruguay’s run in the 2019 U-20 World Cup, in order to cover the expenses for his son, who was born prematurely.
It should be noted that Olympiacos will be on the lookout for a starting goalkeeper in the event of Konstantinos Tzolakis’s sale, with the name of the team’s former Portuguese goalkeeper, José Sá, being considered.
