The President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, expressed pride in the armed forces of the Republic of Cyprus and particular satisfaction with the high level of cooperation between Cyprus-France, expressed by the President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, during a meeting with National Guard officers who will take part in tomorrow’s French Armed Forces parade marking France’s National Day.
President Christodoulides, who arrived in Paris tonight at the invitation of his French counterpart, Mr. Emmanuel Macron, visited the military base where the Cypriot honor guard is stationed.
Speaking to the members of the elite honor guard, he noted that the honorary invitation to march with the flag of the Republic of Cyprus on the Champs-Élysées, before heads of state and government, beyond its high symbolic value, reflects, among other things, the importance of strategic cooperation between Cyprus and France, with relations between the two countries at the highest possible level.
In the presence of the Commander of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou, the President of the Republic congratulated the National Guard officers who represent Cyprus with distinction on international missions and in various units, while reaffirming the Government’s unwavering commitment to the continuous enhancement of the Republic of Cyprus’s defense capabilities.
