Early Thursday morning (July 16), the deadline for Jeremiah Robinson-Earl has to secure a guaranteed NBA contract, and all signs point to that not happening. The American power forward/center has reached a verbal agreement with Aris for a two-year contract with annual earnings of over 1.8 million euros, and the deal is expected to be finalized by the end of the week, barring any last-minute surprises.
At the same time, Aris remains in the running for Vasilis Toliopoulos, although PAOK’s offer (1.5 million euros to Panathinaikos) is better. The “yellow-and-blacks” are meeting the 30-year-old guard’s demands, but they won’t engage in a bidding war and are banking on the player’s bond with the team, as well as the excellent chemistry he has built over the past few years on the national team with Vassilis Spanoulis and Nikos Zisis.
Furthermore, tomorrow (July 15) marks the expiration of the EuroLeague opt-out clause in Amin Noua’s contract, which means that, in this case, the three-year contract agreed upon with Aris months ago will take effect. However, the French forward’s continued presence with the team should not be taken for granted.
