The appointment of a new EU Special Envoy for the Cyprus issue is yet another sign of the same “biased approach toward the Turkish Cypriot people,” said former Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar on social media.

The Special Envoy appointed under these circumstances “has no legitimacy for the Turkish Cypriot side, and that it is not appropriate to meet with a representative of those who deny the sovereign equality and equal international status of the Turkish Cypriot people,” he added.
