The Netherlands national team is looking for a new head coach following its elimination by Morocco in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup, which led to Ronald Koeman’s departure from the Oranje bench.
The Dutch are already reviewing their options for a successor, with Arne Slot’s name at the top of their list.
The 47-year-old coach left Liverpool at the end of last season and is now looking for the next step in his coaching career, with his home country’s national team appearing ready to offer him that opportunity.
In fact, according to related reports, Liverpool is also on board with the potential deal. The reason is that, even if Slot takes over a new team, the “Reds” will continue to pay him the compensation stipulated in the event that he remains out of coaching, even though the terms of the agreement do not provide for such compensation in the event he takes on a new coaching role.
