Barcelona is preparing to make a strong push for Julián Álvarez as soon as his World Cup campaign is over, with the Argentine forward from Atlético remaining their top target for the center-forward position.
The “Blaugrana” have made it clear that they do not intend to exceed 100 million euros in a lump sum, considering that to be the ceiling for a player of Álvarez’s caliber. Nevertheless, they are considering the possibility of adding bonuses tied to goals and titles, which would be triggered only if the Argentine plays a leading role.
At the same time, Barcelona is open to including a player in the deal, provided that Atlético is interested in someone from its roster. Names such as Casado, Ferran Torres, or even Araujo could be part of the discussion, provided the players consent.
Atlético, however, continues to take a hard line against Barcelona and does not want to directly strengthen a domestic rival. At the same time, it does not rule out the possibility of a sale to Arsenal, which does not pose a threat in La Liga, the Copa del Rey, or the Supercopa.
Álvarez has already expressed his desire to leave Madrid and views the prospect of wearing a Barcelona jersey positively. After the World Cup, the situation is expected to heat up.
