A U.S. official confirmed to ABC News that the U.S. military is currently conducting airstrikes in Iran.

According to the official, the airstrikes have been underway for the past two hours.

For his part, Iranian President Masoud Pezeskian responded to Donald Trump’s recent statements, in which the U.S. president claimed to have neutralized most of Iran’s military capabilities.

Iran’s President Pezeshkian to Trump:

“We will respond to your rhetoric with action and defend every inch of our land.”

He also said Americans should handle Trump’s “rudeness” themselves. Words are quickly turning into warnings.

“Their rhetoric continues, but the question is: have they achieved their objectives on the battlefield?” Pezeshkian said in televised remarks.

“Those who decided to try to tear our country apart—what have they ultimately achieved with their actions?” he added.

“We will defend every inch of our homeland with our actions,” Pezeskian emphasized.

Air raid sirens sounded in Bahrain; controlled explosions in Iran
. Earlier, air raid sirens sounded again in Bahrain, according to the Interior Ministry, just hours after Manama announced that it had intercepted several Iranian attacks earlier in the day.

“The siren sounded… Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe location,” the Ministry of Interior said in a statement on social media.

Earlier, Iranian media reported that explosions previously reported in the city of Antimesk, Iran, were due to “controlled explosions” and “were not a hostile attack,” according to the country’s state media, citing local authorities.

It should be noted that Kuwait announced earlier in the day that it had come under attack in its airspace, as Iran intensified its strikes in the Gulf region, against the backdrop of rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.

“The armed forces are intercepting hostile aircraft within Kuwaiti airspace,” stated a General Staff announcement, calling on residents “to follow the safety instructions issued by the authorities.”
