A new report from Mexico regarding the possibility that Orbelín Pineda will leave AEK this summer. Well-known Mexican journalist César Luis Merlo stated in a post that the Mexican international midfielder has given the “green light” to Monterrey, and it is now up to the “Ragados” to reach an agreement with the “Yellow-and-Blacks.”
“After the 2026 World Cup, Orbelín Pineda could return to the Mexican league to play for Monterrey, with whom negotiations are already underway,” the report initially states.
“Pineda, who has received a contract renewal offer from AEK, has ‘given the green light’ to Monterrey’s offer, as the club seeks to reach an agreement with AEK,” Merlo emphasizes.
“At Monterrey, Orbelín will be reunited with Matías Almeida, with whom he played for Chivas and AEK, having won several titles,” adds the well-known reporter.
