A social media post emphasizes that “it has been 52 years since the treacherous coup of July 15, 1974, which provided Turkey with the pretext it sought to carry out its unlawful plans at the expense of Cyprus.”
“With the brutal invasion that followed, Turkey has, for 52 full years, continued its illegal occupation of European territory, perpetuating one of the greatest crimes in postwar European history. The sirens sound today as a reminder and a wake-up call.”
