The biggest talk of the town in Greek basketball over the past few days has been Vasilis Toliopoulos. The Panathinaikos international guard has been the subject of a heated battle, with PAOK entering the fray aggressively, following the “bombshell” they dropped with the signing of Jedi Osman, while Aris also made a move to sign him.
In the last few hours, however, there has been a dramatic turn of events in the case of the 30-year-old guard.
This is because PAOK withdrew the offer it had made to the player—as well as to Aris—thereby dropping out of the race to sign him.
Meanwhile, Aris remains in the running, having made its own move. More specifically, the “Yellows” have submitted an offer to Panathinaikos, which—according to reports—— between 600,000 and 700,000 euros—for the “Greens” to release the Greek star.
Panathinaikos, for its part, considers this offer from Aris to be too low and is not entering into negotiations regarding his transfer. This means that, based on the current situation, the most likely scenario is that Vasilis Toliopoulos will remain on the “clover’s” roster, so that he can play under the guidance of Zeljko Obradovic next season, which promises to be an extremely demanding one, both in Greece and in Europe.
