EDEK is moving to convene its governing bodies following the rapid developments within the party resulting from the resignation of President Nikos Anastasiou.
As the party states in its announcement “The developments within EDEK, following the resignation of our comrade Nikos Anastasiou from the party presidency, on the one hand deeply sadden all EDEK members, but on the other hand, they require all of us to demonstrate the utmost seriousness and, most importantly, to prioritize above all else the restoration of calm and stability within the party.”
At the same time, he emphasizes that Nikos Anastasiou, during his presidency, devoted himself to a titanic effort to unite EDEK and achieve the goal of remaining in Parliament.
