Ankara is pushing the envelope with Israel and is now attempting to handcuff Benjamin Netanyahu and bring him before the Turkish courts on a series of criminal offenses related to the recent interception of the International Gaza Flotilla and the violence suffered by hundreds of activists at the hands of the Israeli authorities.
“We begin our Bulletin with a breaking, urgent, and important news story. The 11th Criminal Court of Istanbul… has decided to issue a ‘red notice’ against Netanyahu.”
“TGRT” News Bulletin
The Istanbul Criminal Court has already initiated proceedings and is requesting that Interpol to issue a Red Notice, or an International Arrest Warrant, against the Israeli Prime Minister.
“Any intervention in international waters constitutes a crime. That is why we want criminal proceedings to be brought against the person responsible. For that to happen, however, the person in question must be arrested… and handed over to the Turkish justice system. Who is this person? Netanyahu.”
Felemez Dogan – Director of International News, “TGRT”
The dossier of charges against Bibi is voluminous and serious, as it includes offenses ranging from crimes against humanity and genocide to causing bodily harm, torture, and deprivation of personal liberty.
“The most important thing is not whether Interpol will issue the arrest warrant or not. What matters most is Turkey’s stance… and the psychological pressure it is exerting on the Netanyahu government. That is what matters.”
Felemez Dogan
“Ready for Anything”
Netanyahu, however, remains unfazed as he packs his bags for yet another transatlantic trip to Washington. He will travel there on Saturday for the funeral of U.S. Senator Lindsay Graham, and will remain there until Tuesday, with his office seeking an official one-on-one meeting with Donald Trump.
A meeting of particular significance, amid the resurgence of war in the Middle East, and while Israel has its weapons at the ready, declaring itself fully prepared to engage in the war at any moment.
“We are prepared for any eventuality. I can tell you one thing. No, I’ll say this to Iran’s leaders: Don’t count on us to remain silent if you attack us.”
Benjamin Netanyahu – Prime Minister of Israel
In fact, as officials have leaked to the Israeli media, a new large-scale war against Iran is a foregone conclusion. The only question is when.
