The police maintained a strong presence and carried out intensive operations throughout Cyprus last night, conducting organized patrols at key locations in urban areas, with the aim of preventing serious criminal acts, ensuring public order, and increasing the public’s sense of security.
These preventive policing operations resulted in the arrest of ten individuals for various offenses, including brawling, illegal possession of drugs, illegal possession of property, assault resulting in actual bodily injury, disturbing the peace, and illegal residence.
During the night, 824 vehicles were stopped for inspection, and 1,011 drivers and passengers were checked. At the same time, 47 property inspections were conducted, resulting in four complaints.
During the traffic checks, 452 citations were issued for various traffic violations, 162 of which were for speeding. A total of 258 breathalyzer tests were conducted, with 16 positive results, as well as one preliminary drug test that yielded a positive result. In addition, as part of the police operations, nine vehicles were impounded.
Law enforcement operations, aimed at preventing and suppressing crime, continue daily, with an increased police presence, targeted checks, and immediate operational action, with the aim of protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
