The police maintained a strong presence and carried out intensive operations throughout Cyprus last night, conducting organized patrols at key locations in urban areas, with the aim of preventing serious criminal acts, ensuring public order, and increasing the public’s sense of security.
These preventive policing operations resulted in the arrest of ten individuals for various offenses, including drug possession, burglary, unlawful possession of property, and illegal residence.
During the night, 684 vehicles were stopped for inspection, and 849 drivers and passengers were checked. At the same time, 56 property searches were conducted, resulting in six complaints.
During traffic stops, 370 citations were issued for various traffic violations, 63 of which were for speeding. A total of 294 breathalyzer tests were administered, with 30 positive results, as well as 11 preliminary drug tests, with three positive results. In addition, as part of the police operations, 18 vehicles were impounded.
Law enforcement operations, aimed at crime prevention and suppression, continue daily, with an increased police presence, targeted checks, and immediate operational action, with the aim of protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
