Joel Roca described Olympiacos as a historic and great club in his first remarks as a player for the “Red-and-Whites.”
“Before I came here, I knew that Olympiacos has a stadium that… really puts pressure on the opposition, from the Champions League games I’d seen. I spoke with Medilibar, who wanted me to come here, and that’s how it turned out in the end,” the 21-year-old star emphasized on the Piraeus club’s YouTube channel.
Here’s what he said in detail:
“I’m very happy that this club gave me the opportunity to continue my career here. It’s a historic club with a very good team, a good coach, and great people. It’s a great club with clear goals that knows how to win titles and achieve as much as possible. It wins games, has a great stadium, excellent facilities—it has everything it needs to win and move forward. Before I came here, I knew that Olympiacos has a stadium that… really puts pressure on the opposition, from the Champions League games I’d seen. I spoke with Medilibar, who wanted me to come here, and that’s how it turned out. I’m fast in one-on-one situations; I really enjoy running, dribbling, and going for the goal whenever I can. I want to grow as a soccer player and as a person through Olympiacos. This club will help me because I want to win titles—as many as I can. What I remember most of all is the game against Real Madrid, when the stadium was about to explode. It was a really great atmosphere. I’m really looking forward to seeing you, getting to know you all, and playing in front of you,” said the Spanish star.
