There has been a new development in the terrorism case being investigated by the Larnaca CID, as a third-country national was arrested and transferred to Cyprus as part of a coordinated operation. According to the police, the suspect is facing the same charges under investigation as in the case for which three individuals have already been remanded in custody, while the court ordered his detention for eight days.
Larnaca CID Chief Giorgos Charalambous confirmed reports that the Larnaca CID had arrested a third-country national in connection with the terrorism case. The suspect was transferred to Cyprus following a coordinated operation.
Mr. Charalambous stated, “We confirm that the police, specifically members of the Larnaca CID, in cooperation with other agencies of the Republic, have arrested a third-country national as part of an investigation into a case involving terrorism.”
“The suspect was transported to Cyprus by members of the Larnaca CID following a coordinated operation,” he added.
Mr. Charalambous stated that “the arrest of this national relates to the same offenses as the case already under investigation, in connection with which three individuals have already been remanded in custody.”
The suspect appeared before the Larnaca District Court, where a detention order for eight days was issued. The Larnaca CID is continuing its investigation.
