Spain will face Argentina tomorrow (July 19, 10:00 p.m.) in the World Cup final, with “La Furia Roja” defender Marc Cucurella making some remarks that are sure to spark discussion.
Specifically, he said he would get a tattoo of the team’s coach, De la Fuente, on his face if the team’s dream of winning the World Cup comes true. In fact, he didn’t stop there, adding that he would also retire from the national team.
It’s worth noting, however, that the right-back, who signed with Real Madrid a short while ago, is known to make such promises from time to time without following through on them. After all, who can forget the legendary quote, “I’d rather get a buzz cut than play for Real Madrid…”
Here’s what he said in detail:
“If we win the trophy, I’ll get a tattoo of De la Fuente’s face on my body and announce my retirement from the national team. The World Cup, the European Championship… what else can you achieve? As early as Monday, I’d call him and tell him I’m calling it quits.”
