Starting at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, there will be there will be intense interest in three of the five teams that will compete in the European competition qualifiers during the new soccer season.
With the exception of AEK, which will have to wait until early August since it is participating in the Champions League playoffs, and OFI, which will be at the same stage of the Europa League qualifiers, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, and PAOK are expecting news later today…
Having secured the privilege of advancing to the third qualifying round rather than the second—as determined by their final league position last season (thanks to Aston Villa’s fourth-place finish in the Premier League and their Europa League victory), Olympiacos will find out which team it will face in early August in its bid to reach the Champions League group stage.
Panathinaikos, for its part, will be informed of the matchup that will determine its next opponent in the third qualifying round of the Conference League, provided, of course, that the “Clover” does what it needs to do against Paksi, starting this week with the first match against the Hungarians.
PAOK, for its part, is preparing for its matches against Dynamo Kyiv in the second qualifying round of the Europa League and will also find out its opponent the winner of which will face Alessio Lisi’s current team.
