Ukraine targeted Moscow and the surrounding area with 400 unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) overnight, resulting in 10 people being injured and fires breaking out in buildings, Russian officials said today.
In a statement on Telegram, Andrei Vorobyov, governor of the Moscow region, stated that seven people, including three Chinese nationals, were injured in a drone attack in the city of Domodedovo, near one of Moscow’s main airports.

Ukraine struck Russian supply facilities and an oil depot in the Moscow Region, more than 400 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said today. “We are responding, justly, to every Russian strike against our cities and communities,” Zelenskyy said in a post on X.
Further south, near the Ukrainian border, the governor of the Belgorod region said that one person was killed and four were injured in a drone attack on a village near the border.
Videos and photos posted on social media reportedly show thick black smoke rising above the city of Podolsk, about 40 kilometers south of Moscow, following a strike on oil storage facilities. At the same time, fires were reported at a Wildberries logistics center in Kolyedino and at warehouses at the Yuzhnye Vorota logistics center, which were reportedly struck by Ukrainian drones.
Additionally, the commander of Kyiv’s drone forces stated today that Ukrainian drones struck seven Russian vessels overnight in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, stated via Telegram that the targets included three tankers and four dry cargo ships, bringing the total number of vessels struck in July to 183. Brovdi also stated that seven substations were struck in Russian-occupied Crimea.
The Ukrainian strike came the day after a Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv from Saturday into Sunday, which was described by the Ukrainian president as involving the “largest” of this type of weaponry by the Ukrainian president, who reported that the attack resulted in one death and 16 injuries.

In recent months, the Ukrainian armed forces have been escalating their attacks against Russia, specifically targeting hydrocarbon infrastructure in an effort to deprive Russia of the ability to finance its war effort.
