Achille Polonara is set to begin a new chapter in his basketball career, as he will serve as one of Avellino’s new assistant coaches in Serie A2.
Just a few months ago, he fought with all his might to return to the court as a player, following his long battle with health issues. He never gave up, but when he realized that returning to the court was no longer possible, he chose to look ahead. With the same perseverance and determination, he worked to earn his coaching certification.

He has stated many times that he owes everything to basketball. And now he has decided to give back what the sport has given him, beginning the “second half” of his basketball career. This time from the bench, he will pass on to his players the passion, personality, strength of character, and inexhaustible perseverance that defined him throughout his career.
