The Meteorological Service has issued a new yellow warning, for maximum temperatures in inland areas, which will continue to hover around 41 degrees Celsius.
The warning will be in effect from 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday until 4:30 p.m.
More specifically, a seasonal low-pressure system is affecting the region. Today, the weather will be mostly clear, though increased cloud cover will be observed locally in the afternoon, mainly in the mountains. Winds will initially be variable and light, 3 Beaufort, before gradually shifting to mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 41 degrees inland, around 35 on the southern and eastern coasts, around 32 degrees on the western and northern coasts, and 31 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear, though patchy fog or mist and low clouds are expected in some areas. Winds will be mainly light southwesterly to northwesterly, at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 24 degrees inland and along the coast, and to 21 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the weather will be mostly clear, though increased cloud cover will be observed locally in the afternoons, mainly in the mountains.
Temperatures will gradually rise slightly through Thursday, remaining above average, while on Friday they are expected to drop.
