The 11th edition of the Buffer Fringe Performing Arts Festival, organized by the House of Cooperation, will take place from October 2 to 4, 2026, in Nicosia.
In 2023, after ten consecutive editions, the Festival announced that it would adopt a biennial format and took a deliberate hiatus in order to reexamine its role as a bicommunal festival in Nicosia. This hiatus provided more time for reflection on the festival’s role in Cyprus’s ever-evolving artistic landscape, as well as for fostering deeper and more sustainable collaborations.
This year’s 11th edition invites us to return to the essence and roots of the Festival, as a unique space for those who “dare to question.” The Festival welcomes 10 artists and artistic groups from Cyprus and abroad, presenting, over the course of three days, performances and installations that challenge established notions, push the boundaries of artistic expression, and encourage new ways of viewing and understanding the artistic experience.
The program for the Buffer Fringe 2026 Festival includes Sophie Fetokaki and Rahme Veziroglu (CY) with the work “the fruit of dreams/φρούτα ονείρων/rüyadaki meyveler,” Anas Younes (SYR/NL) with the work “On Anger and Fatigue,” Yeva Sai and Matteo Marongiu (UKR/IT) with “One Sunday Morning,” Koullou Makka Collective (CY) with “In Our Bubbles(s),” Beatrice Mariani, Skyla Buchanan, Chiara Capizzi, and Jitske Cosemans (CY) with “Don’t look at the dead cat!”, Maria Savva (CY) with “folkLOL:more,” Karakoncoles (CY) with “Karakoncoles,” x.ypno & panayotis (CY) with “MISSPELINGS!,” Antonis Christ (CY) with “deep inside,” as well as Melina Michael’s (UK) installation titled “Pinned, Camera Obscura.”
More information about the Festival program will be announced soon on the websites and social media pages of Buffer Fringe and the House of Collaboration.
