And the last one to close the door on Barcelona….
Tornike Sengelia is reportedly set to leave the “Blaugrana,” who are watching one player after another leave the team—with the player himself even paying the buyout clause!
Specifically, a report on the Serbian website “MozzartSport” reports that the Georgian forward has three offers from EuroLeague teams and will therefore pay the 900,000 euros to Barcelona himself.
The report states:
“Tornike Shengelia is close to leaving Barcelona. The outstanding Georgian player, as Mozzart Sport had already revealed, has a buyout clause of 900,000 euros.
According to related reports, Sengelia is willing to pay the buyout fee himself in order to sign with one of the teams seriously contending for the EuroLeague title. His main goal remains to lift the coveted trophy, something he has not yet achieved, despite his stints with CSKA Moscow, Virtus Bologna, Baskonia, and now Barcelona, where he has been playing since last summer.
Although he is under contract for another two years, developments on Barcelona’s roster appear to be influencing his decision. Following the departures of Xavi Pascual, Will Clyburn, Tomas Satoransky, Nicolas Laprovittola, Youssoufa Fall, and Willy Hernangomez, as well as the failure to finalize the signings of Mike James and Moses Wright (for whom Armani paid 900,000 euros to Barcelona), the Georgian appears to have decided to turn the page and look for the next stop in his career.”
