The Paphos Permanent Criminal Court today sentenced a 44-year-old man to eight years in prison after finding him guilty in a rape case. The case had been investigated by the Paphos Criminal Investigation Department.

According to the complaint filed with the police, the rape was committed on March 21, 2023, in the Paphos district, with a woman as the victim.

Upon completion of the police investigation, the police immediately filed the case on March 27, 2023, for trial before the Paphos Permanent Criminal Court.

After the Permanent Criminal Court reviewed the evidence gathered by the police and presented before it by the prosecution, it found the 44-year-old defendant guilty and sentenced him to eight years in prison.
