Panathinaikos continued its preparations today (July 20) as Panathinaikos continued its preparations ahead of its first official match of the season against Paksí in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the Conference League.

The good news for Jacob Nystrup came from Rick van Drongelen. The Dutch center back has rejoined the “Greens’” full training regimen, and all signs point to him being included in the squad for the first match against the Hungarian team.

The only remaining hurdle to registering Van Drongelen on the UEFA roster is the submission of his player registration form by Samsunspor. According to the Turkish side, this will happen tomorrow (July 21).

From there on, the focus of the training session shifted to tactical work, with Nistrup and his staff working extensively on both Panathinaikos’s defensive and offensive play.

After the warm-up, the “Clover” players moved on to tactical drills, placing particular emphasis on the spacing between the lines, proper positioning, transitions, and teamwork throughout all phases of the game.

The session concluded with practice on set pieces, with the coaching staff working in detail on both offensive and defensive set pieces.
