Tomorrow (July 22, 2:00 p.m.), Omonia’s first European match against Kairat as part of the second qualifying round of the Champions League, the “Greens’” coach, Henning Berg, in remarks he made during the customary press conference.

In detail: “We’re eagerly looking forward to the start of the season with these European matches. We know we’re up against a strong opponent, a team that also competed in the group stage last year, but we’ll play our game, and I hope we’ll come out on top.”

On the right side of the defense: “Odubatjo will be out for tomorrow’s game; his injury isn’t serious, and we’ll assess his condition for the rematch. Nego is an option, as are other players who can perform just as well in that position. Dioni has just joined the team; he’s not yet at the level he himself would certainly like to be at, but I’m sure that soon he’ll be able to give us everything he’s capable of.”

On the readiness of his players: “We had a very good preseason; we played tough friendlies against experienced teams, and we also saw some new faces in those matches to get a sense of where we stand.”

More to come shortly…
