The Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, María Ángela Olguín, will hold a meeting today in Brussels, at 2:00 p.m. local time, a meeting in Brussels with the Executive Vice-President of the Commission for Cohesion Policy and Reforms, Raffaele Fito, who recently assumed the additional role of EU Special Representative for Cyprus.
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kallas, spoke by phone yesterday with Ms. Olgin, after which she stated in a post that the European Union remains firmly committed to supporting the UN’s efforts to achieve a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus issue.
Ms. Kalas noted that she had “a good phone conversation” with the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, ahead of Ms. Olgin’s visit to Brussels on Wednesday, as well as the upcoming visit of the UN Secretary-General to Cyprus.
