The announcement from Portugal’s Estoril regarding the signing of Stelios Andreou has “broken.”
In fact, the Cypriot international center back has already sent his first message, saying: “I’m very excited to be here and can’t wait to meet our fans.”

The agreement with Widzew Łódź is for one year on loan, with a buyout option of 1.5 million euros.
The announcement: “Estoril Praia has reached an agreement with Widzew Łódź for the loan of Stelios Andreou for one season.
The 24-year-old defender, a Cyprus international (with 30 caps), arrives at “Amoreira” after a season with the Polish club, during which he played in 22 official matches.
Prior to his stint in Poland, Andreou established himself as a key player for Royal Charleroi, making 125 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League over four seasons—a period during which he scored three goals and recorded three assists.
He made his professional debut in the 2020–21 with Olympiakos Nicosia, the club where he completed his youth training and played in 39 official matches before moving to Belgian soccer.
Speaking to the media at Estoril Praia, the Cypriot international expressed his enthusiasm for the new challenge: “Joining Estoril Praia means a lot to me. I know this is a historic Portuguese club and that the league (Liga Portugal) is of a very high standard. It’s an excellent opportunity for me.”
When asked about his goals for the season, he preferred to keep his expectations in check: “I don’t think too far ahead. I like to take it week by week and game by game. That’s how I believe I achieve my goals.”
Andreou revealed that he had already been following Estoril Praia’s recent form. “I was familiar with the club from watching the Portuguese league. I remember their appearance in the League Cup final, and I hope we’ll be able to experience moments like that again,” he said.
Regarding his first few hours at Amoreira, he also praised the atmosphere he encountered: “From the very first moment, I felt that this is a very close-knit club. There’s a family-like atmosphere, and that’s exactly what I like and what I was looking for.”
The new signing also described his playing style: “I like the way I read the game. I’m calm with the ball at my feet, but competitive and dynamic when the moment calls for it. I always try to find that balance. I’m very excited to be here and can’t wait to meet our fans. I hope we’ll have a fantastic season together. We’ll do everything we can to give you reasons to be proud of us. We hope to count on your support, as you can be sure that we, for our part, will be fully committed,” he concluded in his message to Estoril fans.
Stelios Andreou becomes the second Cypriot soccer player to play for Estoril Praia, following Charalambos Kyriakou, who wore the yellow-and-black jersey during the 2017–18 season.
