Real Madrid pulled off one of the biggest transfers of the summer, announcing the signing of Yian Diomande to a contract running through 2033.
In fact, the 19-year-old is the most expensive signing in Real Madrid’s history. According to Athletic, the deal between Real Madrid and Leipzig for the African player has been finalized and is worth approximately 140 million euros.
The forward from Ivory Coast, who started all four of Ivory Coast’s World Cup matches and recorded one assist, had transferred last year from Leganés to Leipzig for 20 million euros. In his only season with the team, he scored 13 goals and recorded 10 assists in 36 appearances.
According to Transfermarkt, the most expensive signing in Real Madrid’s history was the 127 million euros the club spent in 2023 to acquire Jude Bellingham from Dortmund. Next is Eden Hazard from Chelsea at 120.8 million euros, while third is Gareth Bale from Tottenham for 101 million euros.
