Police arrested a 16-year-old, to facilitate the investigation into an arson case involving a building in Nicosia on August 5, 2026.
Specifically, yesterday around 4:30 p.m., a fire broke out in an abandoned building in the Nicosia district. Members of the Police and the Fire Department arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire.

Subsequent on-site investigations determined that the fire was set maliciously.
As part of the investigation into the case, evidence was gathered against a 16-year-old, who was arrested today pursuant to a court warrant and taken into custody.
The Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department is continuing its investigation.
