The Meteorological Department has issued a new yellow warning for high temperatures, which are expected to reach around 40 degrees Celsius on Friday in the interior. It will take effect between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
According to the warning, the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 40 degrees Celsius inland.
Here is the detailed weather forecast:
Today, the weather will be mostly clear, but at midday and in the early afternoon, there will be locally increased cloud cover, which may bring isolated showers in the mountains. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and later locally strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will reach 40 degrees inland, around 31 on the southwestern and western coasts, around 34 degrees along the rest of the coast, and 30 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear, though locally increased low cloud cover will be observed at times. Later on and during the early morning hours, light fog or mist may form, mainly in the east and inland. Winds will be mainly northwesterly to northeasterly, light and occasionally locally moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to 22 degrees inland, around 23 degrees along the coast, and 18 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Over the weekend and on Monday, the weather will be mostly clear. Temperatures are not expected to change significantly and will remain above average.
