One of the most significant moves of this year’s NBA offseason was the trade that sent Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers, where, alongside LeBron James, they aim to reach the top of the world’s best league.
The Sixers’ new acquisition was introduced at the customary press conference, where, among other things, he mentioned who from his new team were the first to reach out to him. However, he didn’t stop there, as he wanted to describe in detail his feelings upon hearing the news that he would be leaving the Celtics for the first time in his career.

In fact, as he mentioned, he wasn’t exactly… calm, as he threw his phone across the room after reading the news: “When I found out I’d been traded, I threw my phone across the room! The first person to reach out to me was Maxey, who told me that everyone was really excited to have me on the team. V.J. Edgcomb did the same.”

Jalen Brown also addressed his relationship with Jayson Tatum following the trade that ended their time together with the Boston Celtics.
The Sixers’ new star emphasized that the two players won an NBA championship together—something that, as he pointed out, creates a special bond between people who share such a success.
“We won a championship together. No matter who you win a title with, you’d think that means brotherhood and a legacy that lasts forever,” Brown said.
At the same time, he acknowledged that, as in any relationship, there were good times and difficult times, but he made it clear that, for his part, he has nothing but respect for Tatum.
“Obviously, there are ups and downs in every relationship, but from my perspective, there’s nothing but respect. Except, of course, when he plays against the Sixers, when I want my team to win,” he said.
When asked whether the two former teammates had spoken since the trade, Brown replied that so far there has been no communication between them.
