Following Rodri's decision to turn down Real Madrid and choose Barcelona, the "Blaugrana" began negotiations with Manchester City to sign him.
According to the Catalan newspaper Sport, the Spanish champions have already made their first offer to the English club for the 31-year-old midfielder, amounting to 45 million euros plus bonuses in the range of 10–15 million euros. The offer was rejected by City as insufficient, as they are demanding 65 million euros for the World Cup MVP.
