Yiannis Sarris underwent surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament, following the serious injury he sustained during PAOK’s summer training camp.
The young midfielder was injured during PAOK’s friendly match against Westerlo, leaving the field as early as the 10th minute, supported by team staff. From that moment on, there was intense concern within PAOK’s ranks regarding the severity of the injury.
The tests he underwent subsequently confirmed the initial fears, as a torn anterior cruciate ligament was diagnosed. As a result, Sarris underwent surgery and has now left the first difficult stage behind him, beginning the long process of rehabilitation.
PAOK has stood by the young soccer player from the very beginning, and following the completion of the surgery, sent him a message of support, wishing him strength and a speedy return to competitive action.
“Yiannis Sarris underwent the scheduled surgery following the anterior cruciate ligament tear he sustained during preseason training.
From here on out, the road to recovery begins. Giannis, we wish you strength and a speedy return to the field. We’re waiting for you!” PAOK wrote in detail.
