Scenes of chaos unfolded in the Kosovo parliament when a female opposition lawmaker took eggs out of her bag and threw them at the prime minister and the deputy prime ministerAlbin Kurti, during a session on Saturday (August 8).
The session was convened to form Kosovo’s parliament following the early elections on June 7.

The MP’s reaction came after Kurti, leader of the “Vetëvendosje” (Self-Determination) to nominate a candidate for the office of Speaker of Parliament.

The results of the June 7 parliamentary elections did not provide a clear solution to overcome the crisis and the 16-month period of political deadlock in Kosovo.
Albin Kurti’s “Self-Determination” movement emerged once again as the winner of the elections, but it did not secure a majority in parliament.
