Apollon’s press officer, Fanourios Konstantinou, spoke to “Super Sport 104.0” about everything related to Apollon.
He discussed the European rematch against Brașov and analyzed the team’s performance, noting that Leonidas Konomis’s readiness will be determined during the final practice session.
Furthermore, as he noted, advance ticket sales have exceeded 6,500 and are expected to reach 8,000 by tomorrow.
On the match against Bran: “Absolutely nothing is decided yet—only the first 90 minutes. Right now, there’s an important game in Limassol tomorrow afternoon. We’re approaching it as a 0-0 game.”
On the lineup and Konomi: “Everything will be clarified during today’s practice. The first quarter of the session will be open to media representatives. Except for Assunção, everyone else is available. Mr. Losada prefers players who have been with the team for a while and whom he has worked with. With Goldson, it will still take quite some time.”
On Apollon’s 3-for-3 record in Europe: “It’s a small but promising first sign. We need more games for it to be more meaningful, but this team will definitely be more competitive this year and put in a strong performance. We’re waiting for the remaining pieces of the puzzle—our new signings—and from there on out, we’re optimistic. We need to minimize our mistakes and get the result that will secure our qualification.”
On Ozbolt and Eskritche: “They’re strong, talented players—it would be unfair not to take them on one by one. They’ve all gotten off to a good start, and we need consistency, perseverance, and a serious attitude for the team to achieve its goals in Cyprus, but right now our European future takes priority. These will be tough tests, and if we advance, we’ll face either PAOK or Anderlecht. Our chances of advancing against Brann are 50-50 right now.”
Regarding advance ticket sales: “We’ve surpassed 6,500, and we expect to reach 8,000 tomorrow—that would be a very good number and nearly a sellout. If tickets sell out, the north stand will also open.”
