The Meteorological Service has issued a new yellow warning, as Cyprus remains in the grip of a heat wave.
The warning takes effect tomorrow, Tuesday, at 2:00 p.m. and expires at 4:00 p.m. the same day.
According to the warning, temperatures in inland areas are expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius.

On Monday evening, the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will blow from the northwest to the northeast, and on the northern coast from the southeast, at a light 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly choppy. Temperatures will drop to 22 degrees inland, around 24 degrees along the coast, and 20 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tomorrow the weather will be mostly clear, but in the afternoon there will be increased cloud cover, and isolated showers cannot be ruled out, mainly in the mountains. Winds will initially be variable, light at 3 Beaufort, gradually shifting to southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and temporarily along the southern coast, reaching strong at 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will reach 39 degrees inland, 32 on the western coast, around 35 on the rest of the coast, and 30 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the weather will be mostly clear, but there will be periods of increased local cloud cover, and isolated showers are likely in the afternoon, mainly in the mountains.
Temperatures will not change significantly on Wednesday and Thursday, while a slight drop is expected on Friday, bringing them close to seasonal averages.
