In the village of Koili, in the Paphos district, a space for lovers has been created—a place where couples can “seal” their love.
Speaking on the Alpha Summer show, Thomas Nikodimou, Secretary of the Koili Community Council, discussed this special spot in the village, known as “Corner of Love,” a place where couples can sit on the bench there, enjoy the moment, and symbolically “seal” their love.
As Mr. Nikodimos noted, special padlocks have also been installed at the site, which couples can use to leave their own token of love.
The initiative was recently implemented as part of the area’s renovation in 2024. The idea arose from stories about love and couples’ relationships, and the story of one couple in particular served as a major source of inspiration for the creation of this specific spot.
Already, as the Secretary of the Community Council noted, some padlocks have been placed there by visitors, a sign that the idea is beginning to catch on.
“We’re here in Koili, Paphos. We’d love for couples in love to come and lock their love with their significant other.”
A unique, romantic spot in Koili that invites couples to leave behind a small but symbolic “mark” of their love.
