Anorthosis and Nea Salamina will face off today (August 12, 7:00 p.m.) at the “Ammochostos-Epistrofi” stadium in a tough preseason friendly ahead of the new season.
For “The Lady,” this is their first friendly match on Cypriot soil, giving El Maestro the opportunity to assess his team’s competitive form and draw useful conclusions. Furtado and Chrysostomou are expected to play, while Yoel van Neef is following an individual training program and is not expected to play. Mindenorp and Kis will also sit out due to niggles, while it’s possible that other players may be rested as a precaution.

On the other hand, Nea Salamina continues its preparations at full speed, having selected strong opponents for its friendlies, so that Ángel López can gain an even clearer picture of his entire squad. The priority for the “Red-and-Whites” is not the result, but improving their play and putting into practice what they’ve been working on in training.
