PAOK is very close to signing Vanya Drkušić, with the Slovenian center back expected to move to Thessaloniki on loan from Zenit.
The agreement is for one year, as reported by Pablo Oliveira, through the summer of 2027, and includes a purchase option, with the exact financial terms expected to be announced shortly.
The 26-year-old center back, who stands 1.88 m tall, is a Slovenian international and has been playing for Zenit since the summer of 2024, making 28 appearances in the Russian league last season. He has previously played for Sochi, Bravo, and Red Star, where he was on loan.
He is a dynamic center back who excels in one-on-one duels; he will come out strong against opponents and take on the “dirty” part of the job, while with the ball he prefers safe options and doesn’t take many risks.
PAOK had previously shown interest in him, knocking on the Slovenian center-back’s door without managing to finalize the transfer. This time, however, all signs point to “third time’s the charm,” as Drkušić is on the verge of joining PAOK.
