A neighbor’s quick thinking prevented a man from stealing jewelry from a minor he had tricked.
Specifically, according to the Greek Police, a young Greek national was arrested who, posing as an employee of a fiber-optic company, attempted, over the phone, to deceive a minor girl, asking her to gather her jewelry in a bag so he could inspect it.
However, when he arrived at the location and entered the girl’s building, he was spotted by one of her neighbors, who stopped him and sent him away.
The suspect was spotted a short time later snooping around neighboring homes; he was taken to a police station and arrested, and the cell phone he was using was confiscated.
