Apollon bid farewell to Europe after being eliminated by Brann and is now focusing exclusively on the start of the league season. Disappointment is inevitable, but Hernán Lozada must manage the situation and lead the team forward.
The Argentine coach had warned of the difficulties of the match, and the outcome confirmed his concerns. The priority now is an immediate response, as Apollon needs to improve its intensity, on-field balance, and, above all, its defensive play.

The coming period will also be crucial for the players’ morale. The coaching staff wants to put the European disappointment behind them, without, however, overlooking the mistakes that led to the elimination—mistakes that must be corrected ahead of the new season.
Meanwhile, the spotlight is on Asoro and Ugbo, Apollon’s two latest signings. Both players need playing time and to get into a rhythm so they can better fit into Losada’s game plan and provide additional options in the attacking midfield.
At the same time, the “Blues” are considering playing a friendly match against Nea Salamina on August 22 at “Ammochostos.” Discussions are ongoing, and if a final agreement is reached, the match will serve as the last major test before the start of the league season.
Apollon’s goal is now clear: to quickly put their European elimination behind them and be as ready as possible for the opening match of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan. Losada has just a few days ahead of him to address weaknesses and get the team on track for the league season.
