Olympiacos has set its sights on Chivas’ Armando González, with a report from Mexico revealing that the “Red-and-Whites” have already made an official offer to sign him.
According to journalist César Luis Merlo, Olympiacos submitted its first offer for the 23-year-old forward on Saturday, effectively confirming the interest that has existed for some time now in his case.
As reported, the Greek club initially sought to gauge Chivas’ intentions and financial demands, with negotiations expected to continue in the coming days.
González’s buyout clause stands at $15 million, however, the Mexican club is reportedly willing to discuss his transfer for a lower fee, while retaining a percentage of any future transfer fee.
Armando González is one of the rising stars of Mexican soccer, having already distinguished himself for his finishing skills while playing in Guadalajara’s youth system. The 23-year-old forward has recorded a total of 33 goals and 8 assists in 84 official appearances in his professional career, while in Liga MX with Chivas’ first team, he has 6 goals and 2 assists in 28 games.
His productivity in the youth ranks was even more impressive, as he emerged as the top scorer in the Liga MX U23 during the 2023 Apertura and celebrated winning the championship in that same division. He plays at the top of the attack, with a knack for scoring and a strong presence in the box, while the nickname “La Hormiga” (The Ant) has been with him since his early days, reflecting his tenacity and relentless effort on the field.
