A traffic accident occurred yesterday, Saturday morning, in Lize, in the province of Diyarbakır, in southeastern Turkey, claimed the lives of seven people, including two children, the governor’s office announced.
A previous preliminary official report had put the death toll at five and the number of injured at eleven.
“Two of our fellow citizens lost their lives at the scene of the accident, and five others succumbed to their injuries at the hospitals where they were taken,” the governor’s office explained.

“Nine people continue to receive medical care at hospitals in our province, one of whom is in serious condition,” according to the same source.
A minibus was transporting family members to Mus, in southeastern Turkey, where an engagement ceremony was to take place, when one of the vehicle’s tires burst, explained the private Turkish television network NTV.
The driver lost control and the minibus overturned, according to the report.
The two children who lost their lives were 4 and 10 years old.
