A serious boating accident occurred at noon yesterday in the Pernera area of Paralimni, resulting in injuries to two people.
According to the evidence currently under review, a jet ski—operated by a 17-year-old with an 18-year-old passenger on board—under circumstances that are being investigated, collided with a towed inflatable “sofa-style” raft carrying five people: two men aged 48 and 43, and three minors aged 7, 11, and 13 years old.
A 7-year-old girl was seriously injured in the collision; she suffered a skull fracture and was transported to Makareio Hospital, where she was admitted for treatment, with her condition described as out of danger.
The 48-year-old man suffered a pelvic fracture and was admitted to Famagusta General Hospital.
The Famagusta Traffic Accident Investigation Unit and the Paralimni Police Station are continuing their investigation.
