Police officers from the Patras Sub-Directorate for Crime Prevention and Investigation have made progress in solving a jewelry theft from a residence in Patras, with the investigation leading to a 14-year-old, against whom charges have been filed.
According to the website pelop.gr, citing details from the police investigation, the minor allegedly committed the crime the morning before yesterday (August 14) when he climbed through a drainpipe into a first-floor apartment owned by an elderly woman. After managing to enter the home, he stole jewelry with a total value of approximately 3,000 euros.
The theft was reported to the authorities, and an investigation was immediately launched by officers from the Patras Sub-Directorate for Crime Prevention and Investigation. The investigation and analysis of the evidence gathered during the preliminary inquiry led to the identification of the minor as the alleged perpetrator.
A case file was opened against the 14-year-old for theft, and, according to the police, his full identity has been established.
The case file is expected to be submitted to the Achaea Public Prosecutor for First Instance so that the procedure prescribed by law may be followed.
