Silver for Manolo in Birmingham! Karalis won yet another medal at a major competition, securing second place on the podium in the pole vault at the European Championships in England, with a “jump” of 6.00 m
The gold went to the… superhuman, Armand Duplantis, who cleared 6.15 m. For the Swede, this was his fourth gold medal at a European Championship, following Berlin in 2018, Munich in 2022, and Rome in 2024. In total, he has won 24 gold medals at major events, along with two bronze medals. The Greek athlete jumped 5.55 m, followed by valid attempts at 5.85 m and 5.95 m, and cleared 6.00 m on his second attempt. He then tried to put pressure on Duplantis, raising the bar successively to 6.10 m, 6.15 m, and 6.20 m.
That’s how Karalis reached 14 medals (nine at major events), now counting nine silver medals.
