The action continues today in the Superbet Greek Cup, with two matches in Peristeri and Livadeia!
Following yesterday’s advancements by AEL Novibet, Aris, and Volos, four more teams are vying today for spots in the tournament’s League Phase, while the second qualifying round will continue on Wednesday (August 19) with five more matches.
Tuesday’s action will kick off at 7:00 p.m., when Atromitos hosts PAS Pyrgos in Peristeri. The home team is the favorite in this matchup and will look to avoid any “stumbles” in order to get off on the right foot in their official league campaign this season, just a few days before their notoriously difficult league match against Olympiacos.
Dusan Kerkez will not have Magnusson at his disposal, as he was left out of the squad as a precaution, while Dieng will also not play, whose signing was announced just yesterday. On the other hand, PAS Pyrgos, in its first season back in the second division of Greek soccer, is entering tonight’s match as the underdog while continuing its preparations ahead of its participation in Superbet League 2.
Atromitos’ roster: Athanasiou, Choutesiotis, Lyratzis, Moundes, Papadopoulos, Uronen, Mitoglou, Stavropoulos, Tsakmakis, Hochza, Karamanis, Kotsis, Moutousami, Nunes, Tsigaras, Ampartzidis, Batos, Pneumonidis, Tzovaras, Zouber, Tsantilas, Tsiloulis.
Two hours later (9:00 p.m.), the match between two Stoiximan Super League teams will kick off in Livadeia. Levadiakos will host Asteras AKTOR, with both teams battling it out for a spot in the League Phase. In the official debut of Ilias Charalambous on their bench, the Boeotians will take the field with two players missing, as the suspended Kostis and new signing Sout have been left out of the roster. On the other hand, the Tripoli-based team is riding a wave of momentum following strong performances in its recent friendlies, while Giorgos Antonopoulos will be without Makenda, Kimbioka, Tereziou, and Tsiko, who are dealing with injuries.
Levadiakos’ roster: Anaker, Eliasi, Vallindras, Liagas, Kornezos, Tsaras, Tsivelekidis, Vichos, Manthatis, Pantea, Lamanara, Nikas, Entiaye, Goumas, Papadopoulos, Symelidis, Bausa, Vrakas, Ursi, Emmanouilidis, Balde, Rodriguez, Ozegovic, Kombnan.
Asteras AKTOR’s roster: Papadopoulos, Kakadiaris, Hatzimannouil, Chrysopoulos, Brorson, Gezos, Kotsiras, Mentes, Silva, Laskaris, Bouzoukis, Eder, Kourbelis, Riera, Zogou, Bartolo, Ketou, Orochko, Kaltsas, Gkittersos, Ricardinho, Papakanellos, Perez
The 11 winners of the second qualifying round matches and the five “European” teams from the Stoiximan Super League (AEK, Olympiacos, PAOK, Panathinaikos, and OFI) will make up the 16-team League Phase. The League Phase begins in September (September 1–3 for the first matchday). Please note that in this round, in the event of a tie, there is no extra time; instead, the match goes directly to a penalty shootout.
