The daughter of the heroic martyr Tassos Isaac, Anastasia, responded in the most emphatic way possible Anastasia, responded in the most emphatic way to the online apology from the Turkish Cypriot former AKEL MEP Niazi Gizilgurek for the murder of her father, in August 1996 at the Deryneia roadblock.
Under the post in question on Mr. Gizilgurek’s personal account, 30-year-old Anastasia commented that “It is not your duty to apologize to me,” but “it is your duty to take responsibility for ensuring that the MURDERERS are punished.”
“That is, the murderers whom you yourselves made ministers and members of parliament. It is the duty of all of you to ensure that justice is served for all the families who, for thirty years now, have carried the memory of the murders of their children, siblings, and fathers.”

What Niazi Wrote
In his post, the former Member of the European Parliament describes the circumstances of the bloody incidents in the Dead Zone, referring to organized violence by nationalist groups that acted with the tolerance of “authorities” of the pseudo-state.
He expressed his “shame” over the murders of Tassos Isaac and Solomos Solomos and claimed that they were organized by “official authorities” and denounced the stance of Rauf Denktash, who hosted the perpetrators at the “presidential palace.”
Among other things, Mr. Gizilgurek emphasized that Turkish Cypriots owe an apology to Tassos Isaac’s daughter, who was born after her father’s murder.
